#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Do you ever suspect that everyone else has life figured out and you don’t have a clue? If so, Rachel Hollis has something to tell you: that’s a lie.

As the founder of the lifestyle website TheChicSite.com and CEO of her own media company, Rachel Hollis developed an immense online community by sharing tips for better living while fearlessly revealing the messiness of her own life. Now, in this challenging and inspiring new book, Rachel exposes the twenty lies and misconceptions that too often hold us back from living joyfully and productively, lies we’ve told ourselves so often we don’t even hear them anymore.

With painful honesty and fearless humor, Rachel unpacks and examines the falsehoods that once left her feeling overwhelmed and unworthy, and reveals the specific practical strategies that helped her move past them. In the process, she encourages, entertains, and even kicks a little butt, all to convince you to do whatever it takes to get real and become the joyous, confident woman you were meant to be.

With unflinching faith and rock-hard tenacity, Girl, Wash Your Face shows you how to live with passion and hustle--and how to give yourself grace without giving up.

  • Bragging much?

I was excited to read this for myself after hearing so many positive reviews. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it. A little too condescending towards those who aren’t as successful as she with a “major media company” and a little too “I’m the hardest worker in the room, etc”. I felt like her chapter on her bad relationship turned marriage could be taken the wrong way for those women in a bad relationship hoping he’ll turn around.
  • Eye opening.

This book brought out many repressed factors of my life. Many factors I feel (felt) defined me. Those factors didn’t , I do. I DEFINE ME! I am making changes for me, changes that make ME the happy, loving person I really AM!

Really didn’t like the book. Would not recommend to anyone. Beware! Do not let you child read this. Advice is giving in a bad way.
  • Completely unoriginal

I heard this author on a podcast say she never reads reviews. That’s too bad because she should know what she said about her husband is downright dangerous to women. Ladies most guys who treat you how he did are not going to suddenly become healthy partners. Furthermore I find it astounding that so many say this book changed their lives. It’s so basic and rips off everything that’s already out there. Just a compilation of other people’s work and ideas who are actually qualified to give advice, but said in a sassy little privileged way. I would have more respect if she actually referenced her quotes and information but she doesn’t even give people credit for what she so clearly has taken from others. I’m the last one to want to hate on another woman but this is just trite garbage.
  • Very religious book

Maybe I missed this and it’s my fault, but I don’t have the same belief system and I feel like I bought a very religious book when I thought it would be helpful for everyone. I was disappointed.

I recently deleted all my social media for a while because I’m trying to make all the changes necessary for a healthier lifestyle, no matter how small! So I made a list of books that I could read while I bored at work now that I don’t have social, This was the first one I chose! I absolutely loved everything about it!!!!

I was all into the first part of this book but when I got to the part about her relationship I lost all respect. When you have such a HUGE platform like this and you literally write about an abusive relationship for an entire chapter, talk about how you’ll warn your kids to never be in a relationship like this, then say, “people change, we got back together and have babies etc. but not all situations are like this so don’t stay in your situation if you’re in one..” thats disgusting. Not only are you encouraging (yes unknowingly, believe me the slightest hope like that makes your brain go crazy) unhealthy relationships but you are giving people false hope even if you mildly addressed that not all people change. You are in a narcissistic adult-adult abusive relationship and him showing up at your door was not because he loves you it was because he was trying to trap you for life and it looks like it worked. I was seriously like, “GIRL YAS, CUT THE CHAIN, YAS” and then you married the guy. All respect gone. Couldn’t even finish the book because at the point I was so disappointed and disgusted that the rest was probably all lies. You said you’re honest, heres some honesty for you.
